This men’s earring is made of surgical-grade stainless steel and features a padlock suspended from a classic flat-edged hoop. The striking blue coating is scratch and tarnish resistant, and gives this piece that extra eye-catching pop.

PVD coating is more environmentally friendly than the vast majority of surface treatments on the market as it involves no liquid spillage of toxic chemicals. Rather, it involves superheating titanium nitride to its plasma state and binding it to the metal’s surface at the molecular level. Pretty wild, right?
